It would not be an exaggeration to call fish food a medicinal treasury or a storehouse of nutrients. Because the protein, fat, vitamins and minerals contained in fish provide all the necessary nutrients to our body. Also, these nutrients restrict the diseases and chase the diseases. Although it does not contain carbohydrates, the energy required by the human body comes from fat and protein.
Fat
The human body can make most of the fats it needs from other sources. However, omega-3 fatty acids cannot be obtained this way. These are essential fats – the body cannot make them from scratch. Therefore, these should be obtained from food. Fish, vegetable oils, walnuts, flax seeds, flax seed oil, and greens are rich in omega-3s. Fish is high in omega-3 fatty acids.
Benefits of Omega-3
The omega-3 fats have been preventing heart disease and stroke. It helps control lupus, eczema, rheumatoid arthritis and also helps to prevent cancer.
Protein in fish
Protein is an essential portion of a healthy diet and fish is high in protein like other meat. Unlike the red meat found in goat meat and beef, lean meat is found in fish. So it does not contain fat and calories like red meat.
Proteins are made up of chemical ‘building blocks’ called amino acids (AA). Our body uses amino acids to build and repair muscles and bones and to make hormones and enzymes. They can also be used as a source of energy.

Vitamins and minerals in fish
Vitamins and minerals in fish are used in our body to prevent disease and fight diseases.Fish contain the important lipid-soluble vitamins A, E, and D and also contain Vitamin B12 ( riboflavin). Fish is rich in calcium and phosphorus and a great source of minerals, such as iron, zinc, iodine, magnesium, and potassium.
Vitamins
Vitamin B12 found in fish is needed for healthy red blood cell development, DNA replication and nerve function. Adequate vitamin B12 intake reduces the risk of dementia and heart disease. A deficiency of vitamin B12 can cause problems such as fatigue and anemia.
Vitamin A – This vitamin is necessary for eye sight, normal growth, formation of bones, teeth, and cell building.
Vitamin B complex-This vitamin is good for healthy development of the nervous system.
Vitamin D – Vitamin D is essential for teeth and better for bone development.
Vitamin K helps prevent internal bleeding and helps correct coagulation of blood.
Minerals
Fish is a good source of minerals such as magnesium, calcium, selenium, zinc, iodine and iron
Calcium – Fish contains calcium, which is good for our teeth and bones.
Magnesium – Magnesium aids in proper muscle functioning, maintaining the health of our heart. It restricts type 2 diabetes.
Selenium– Selenium is a potent antioxidant that protects against cell damage. It helps to prevent the negative effects of mercury.
And, Zinc and Iron are inevitable for cell growth and immune system health.
Iodine helps maintain thyroid gland function, while iron is essential for red blood cell production.
Conclusion
Nowadays, people have come to realize the importance of seafood. Some of the best sources of excellent fats, protein, vitamins, and minerals that promote health are found in seafood. However, it is unfortunate that it took so many years for the health benefits of seafood to be realized. There is evidence that increased consumption of seafood derived from fish and shellfish could have a positive impact on the health of people around the world.
